- Professor Bolker joined the meeting for
about 20 mins. beginning at 1:45 PM.

Discussion: |
- Namita presented her drawing for
a
proposed Protex GUI. The team members approved and talked about
ideas for a common GUI that will suffice for VGL and GeneX as well as
for Protex. Professor Bolker offered his opinions on the various
ideas and designs of the proposed (common) GUIs.
- Ruchi polled team members for
availability to attend meetings during the coming semester.
Meetings will be held in general on Tuesday and Thursday
afternoons. Exact times will depend on whether or not there is a
CS683 class meeting.
- Professor Bolker reminded the team that
while process is important, it is necessary to keep focus on the
ultimate project goal--to develop a product that the customer will use.
- Ruchi reported on her efforts to test
GeneX use cases, and to develop a use-case tool. David offered to
share with her a text parsing script he wrote in Perl.
- Namita expressed her desire to continue
working with the Protex code. David offered to help her adapt the
existing Protex application to the proposed GUI.
- The team managed to consult briefly with
Professor White and set up a time for the next customer
meeting--Thursday, Jan. 27th at 9:30 AM.
- Pradeep offered to take up working with
the VGL application. He will start by viewing the videos of
students using VGL. These videos were provided to the MGX team by
Professor White.
