Discussion: |
- Team members reported on the status of
the
three stand-alone applications, demonstrated the current versions, and
took
comments from the other team members. The (informal) presenters
were Pradeep (on VGL), David (on Protex) and Ruchi (on Gene-X).
- Students discussed a proposal to carry
out user testing next week. The following sub-topics were also
discussed.
- Types of questions to ask.
Team
members agreed that questions posed to biology student testers should
be of a mechanical nature, and
should be directly
related to use of the VGL/Gene-X/Protex GUIs. That is, the questions
should not be about the biology per
se.
- Schedule for testing.
Testing will
occur on Friday, March 11th. However, the team members will also meet
on Tuesday, March 8th with Professor White in his lab and on Thursday,
March 10th. On Thursday the team members are planning to
conduct a "dry run" before the actual testing with biology students on
Friday. Last time for coding (before test) will be on Wednesday night,
March 9th.
